A casot is a stone house that belonged to 18th-century Catalan mule drivers. Such houses are dotted about our vineyards in various states of conservation. They used to serve as resting places during long working days, as charming shelters from the wind, or as actual homes for the poorest vignerons. Casots, like restanques (terraces), are part of the soul of our landscapes and of our Catalan cultural heritage.

This cuvée is an exercise in blending our three black-wine grape varieties: Carignan, Grenache and Syrah. Le Cazotte is a red wine with an upfront Mediterranean character: generous, powerful and elegant – a tasting experience underscored by appealing freshness and mineral grace.

The wine’s aromas take us for a stroll in an orchard of red and black berry fruits; in a garden of flowers; and in our garrigue, with wild thyme.

Le Cazotte can be enjoyed young, but also offers excellent cellaring potential.
